David Hornillos (Madrid, 1974). He lives and works in Madrid. Study photography in Blank Paper School, Madrid. He has received the ARCO 2013 Documentary Photography Prize. He has participated in several exhibitions, among others, “Libros que son fotos, fotos que son libros” Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia (Madrid), “P2P Prácticas Contemporáneas de la Fotografía Española” Teatro Fernán Gómez, Madrid (Photoespaña 2014), CentroCentro, Palacio de Cibeles, Madrid (Lanzadera, 2015), Centquatre, Paris (Circulations 2016), “On drawing: Apperceive of Liberation”, Wuhan Art Museum, Wuhan (China), “Photography & Resistance. A New Generation of Spanish Photographers” FOMU, Antwerp (Belgium), “ Blank Paper, Histories du présent immédiat”, Reencontres de Arles 2017 (France), “ Blank Paper, Stories of the immediate present”, Xiamen (China). His first book, Mediodía (Dalpine) has been published in 2014 and has been nominated for the 2014 Photobook Award Kassel Best Book of the Year and the First Book Award MACK 2014. In 2018 he publishes his second book, Ustedes, los vivos (Dalpine), which he presents with an exhibition within the Expand program (Expanded Photography Program) at Sala Equis in Madrid.
